Riverstone Movie Night: The Boys In The Boat
Monthly movie nights return this fall with “The Boys In The Boat” on Friday, September 20. This movie is based on the true story of the University of Washington's 1936 Olympic crew team. The historical sports drama chronicles how the Pacific Northwest team of mostly poor, rural, blue-collar rowers beat first their rivals from Cal Berkeley and then the elitist teams from the Ivy League and East Coast to win a spot in the infamous Berlin Olympics held in Nazi Germany. The movie compresses the true story's timing into the year leading up to the Olympics, as Joe and his teammates practice and prepare for every competition while also dealing with the unrelenting difficulties of being young and poor during the Great Depression.
This movie is rated PG-13 and as always, we encourage parents to check reviews on Common Sense Media to help them determine if this movie is appropriate for their child to view. These reviews are also available from our Family Ministry Director (maggie,portra@beriverstone.org) upon request.
Movie nights at Riverstone are always free of charge and are designed to provide an opportunity to invite someone who may not otherwise come to church! Popcorn, candy, and drinks are available for freewill donation. Seats must be reserved in advance.

It’s BUNCO night! Join us for the fall kick-off event for the Riverstone Women's Ministry. Bring your female friends and relatives and join us in a lively game of Bunco at Riverstone. Student Ministry Orientation
We want to invite all middle schoolers, high schoolers, and their parents to attend Student Ministry Orientation on Wednesday, September 4 at 6:30 PM. We’ll start with pizza and salad in the fellowship area then move into the sanctuary to cast vision for the year ahead and answer your questions!
Family Ministry Volunteer Appreciation & Training
All 2024-2025 Family Ministry Volunteers are invited to attend this appreciation and orientation event at Riverstone on Tuesday, September 3 at 6:30 PM! Breakfast for dinner will be followed by a brief message for all volunteers and breakouts for kids and student ministry areas.

We are gearing up for all the wonderful things the Lord has for us at Riverstone! Please bring your bibles and a notebook. Snacks will be served! Life Group Leader Interest Meeting
Relationships, far more than church attendance, are what God uses to grow and mature our faith in Him. We’re launching life groups this fall because we believe that one of the best ways to grow spiritually is to get connected to 4-10 Christian friends in our church who do life with you, challenge you, and encourage you in your faith.
Our hope and prayer is that these groups help you build those vital relationships. Whether you create a life group in a neighborhood near you, invite a few friends over for a Bible study, go for runs with fellow enthusiasts, network with local business leaders, or look into serving on a Sunday morning team together, life groups are people who are just that - doing life together.
We’re looking for people who feel the Holy Spirit’s calling to say “yes!” to starting one of these groups. If this sounds like you, please join us here on Tuesday, August 27 at 6:00 PM to learn more about the heart behind life groups at Riverstone and how you can get started!

Sunday Fun Days: Everybody’s Birthday
Sunday Fun Days are here again! Kids in preschool and elementary are invited to join in the summer silliness and discover who God created them to be! Every week we’ll learn one amazing thing God says is true about us, worship together, pray for each other, and celebrate being kids!
Sunday Fun Days take place during services at 9:00 AM & 11:00 AM and begins June 2. Kids can be checked in beginning 15 minutes prior to services and should be picked up at the conclusion of service.
Sunday Fun Days are for kids who will be at least 3 years old by July 31, 2024 and at who at most will be entering 6th grade this fall. Older students who are interested in helping with Sunday Fun Days should visit with Maggie Portra about being added to the schedule.

Missionary Presentation: Sam Desir
We’re excited that one of our very own is going to full-time, long term mission work in Ghana, West Africa! Sam Desir has a short presentation that he'd like to share with everyone to tell his own story of being an orphan and how he now knows God has called him to work with foster care in Africa.
Please join us at Riverstone on Sunday, August 18 at 7:00 PM for dessert, fellowship, door prizes, and an opportunity to hear God's heart for the children of Ghana and join us for a special commissioning on Sunday, October 6 during services.
Sunday Fun Days: Unicorn Sparkle Explosion
Sunday Fun Days are here again! Kids in preschool and elementary are invited to join in the summer silliness and discover who God created them to be! Every week we’ll learn one amazing thing God says is true about us, worship together, pray for each other, and celebrate being kids!
Sunday Fun Days take place during services at 9:00 AM & 11:00 AM and begins June 2. Kids can be checked in beginning 15 minutes prior to services and should be picked up at the conclusion of service.
Sunday Fun Days are for kids who will be at least 3 years old by July 31, 2024 and at who at most will be entering 6th grade this fall. Older students who are interested in helping with Sunday Fun Days should visit with Maggie Portra about being added to the schedule.
