Core Beliefs

These are the fundamental Biblical principles we believe to be true based on God’s Word.

There is one eternal God who exists in three persons; The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and sustainer of all things. The triune God has its own unique attributes, but each are of the same nature, essence and being. We seek to glorify Him in all we do. (Mark 12:30, 1 Chronicles 16:25)

God

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
Mark 12:30

The Father is the Sovereign Lord over all creation. God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe and His creatures, according to the purposes of His grace. God is the Father to those who become adopted children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all people. (Psalm 145:3-4, John 15:26, Isaiah 43:10)

The Father

“Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.”
Psalm 145:3-4

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as the substitutionary sacrifice for our sin. He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven and is now our High Priest and Advocate. Because of Him, we have access to the Father and eternal redemption. (John 14:6; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 2:6-8; Matthew 1:20-21; Luke 24:51; Hebrews 8:1; Hebrews 4:15-16; 1 John 2:1)

Jesus Christ

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.'"
John 14:6

The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God, fully divine. He is the spirit of truth, sent by the Father to glorify Jesus Christ, convict people of sin, and lead them to salvation. The Holy Spirit is evidenced in the Christian life by the fruits and gifts by which He teaches, equips and empowers believers in sanctification for godly living and service. (John 14:26; John 16:8; John 16:13-14; 1 Corinthians 2:12; Ephesians 1:13-14; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22-26; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11)

The Holy Spirit

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."
John 14:26

The Bible is the divinely inspired, revealed, and inerrant Word of God to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the truth and the only infallible authority in all matters of faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:97-105, Hebrews 4:12)

The Bible

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17

Salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is a free gift for all who repent and believe that Jesus is Christ, the Son of God. Jesus lived a perfect life, and willingly took our sins upon himself. Through His shed blood, death and resurrection, he provides us the way to eternal life and adoption into the family of God; it is not earned or deserved. (John 3:16; Isaiah 53:5-6; John 3:16; Romans 8:15-16; Ephesians 1:7; Titus 3:5; John 1:12 Ephesians 2:8-9)

Salvation

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

God created Adam and Eve in His image but they sinned when tempted by Satan. In connection with Adam, human beings are sinners by nature and choice, alienated from God. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled and renewed. Those who believe in the saving grace of Jesus Christ will spend eternity with Him in heaven. Those who reject Christ will be eternally separated from God in hell. (Romans 6:23; Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 5:12; James 1:14-15; Romans 5:8-11; John 11:25-26; Philippians 3:20-21; John 14:1-3; Matthew 25:46; Matthew 13:41-42; 2 Thessalonians 1:9)

Heaven and Hell and the human condition

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23

The Church is comprised of all people who acknowledge and accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The body of Christ – in unity- lives, loves and serves for the unending fame and glory of Jesus Christ. No believer is meant to live in isolation but in fellowship with one another in community. (Hebrews 10:25; Colossians 3:14; Ecclesiastes 4:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; 1 Corinthians 14:26; Ephesians 1:20-23; Ephesians 4:15-16)

The CHurch

“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:25

The gifts of the Spirit are still present & active today. In alignment with Scripture, we believe the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts, as God wills, to His children. These gifts are designed to empower believers, build up the body of Jesus Christ, testify to the presence of the Kingdom and equip followers of Christ for worship and ministry. We believe all disciples of Jesus Christ should minister to one another in the local church. (1 Corinthians 14:12; Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 8-11; Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Corinthians 14:1-25)

Gifts of the Holy Spirit

“And the same is true for you. Since you are so eager to have the special abilities the Spirit gives, seek those that will strengthen the whole church.”
1 Corinthians 14:12

Baptism is a means of grace and a representation of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ and the cleansing power of His blood. Baptism is a way for us to publicly declare our new life in Christ and to follow the example of Jesus, who submitted himself to baptism to “fulfill all righteousness.” (Romans 6:4 Matthew 3:13-17; Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:38-41; Matthew 28:18-20)

Baptism

“For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.”
Romans 6:4

Communion is an ordinance given to all believers by Jesus Christ that symbolizes our new covenant with Him and through Him. Communion is not a means of salvation. Rather, it is a remembrance of Jesus and his sacrifice for all. Communion is a testament of the believer’s faith in the atoning work of the cross. (1 Corinthians 11:26; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:19-20)

Communion

“For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.”
1 Corinthians 11:26

Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in a covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman the framework for intimate companionship and also a means for procreation of the human race. (Ephesians 5:33; Genesis 1:26-28; Mark 10:6-9; Hebrews 13:4; Revelation 19:7-9)

Marriage

“So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”
Ephesians 5:33

All human life is sacred and created by God in His very own image. This includes pre-born babies, the elderly, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are, therefore, called to defend, protect and value all human life. (Psalm 139:13-14; Genesis 1:26)

Human Life

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well”
Psalm 139:13-14

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words.”

Thessalonians 4:16-18

Jesus Christ will return and there will be a final judgment and everlasting life for those who believe in Jesus Christ (Thessalonians 4:16-18; Matthew 24:3, 37; Acts 1;10-11; Jude 14-15; Revelation 20:12)
