Upcoming: 2025 High School Mission Trip
Chimbote, Peru
This summer, Riverstone Church’s high school mission team will travel to Chimbote, Peru, partnering with Friends of Chimbote to support the ongoing transformation happening in some of Peru’s most impoverished communities. While there, our students won’t just be laying bricks or handing out supplies — they’ll be building relationships, entering homes, and hearing the stories of resilience and hope that define this vibrant community. Friends of Chimbote operates with a deep belief in giving a hand up, not a handout — empowering individuals through sustainable support and dignity-centered programs.
Our students will walk alongside families as they transition into safe, newly built homes, deliver essential household items to new homes, and participate in food and water distributions that serve over 350 families. They’ll spend time with children in early education programs and engage in heartfelt conversations that cross language barriers through love and presence. Through this mission, lives are changed on both sides — our team will come home with more than just memories; they’ll carry stories of hope, new friendships, and a deeper understanding of what it means to serve with humility and compassion.
Join us in prayer ahead of this trip! We believe that prayer matters in really big ways. You can support our team by praying for:
Spiritual preparation – That hearts would be open to God's leading and that each person would grow in their relationship with Him before and during the trip.
Unity among team members – For strong relationships, good communication, and a spirit of humility and cooperation.
Health and safety – Protection in travel, from illness, and in unfamiliar environments.
Effective ministry – That God would open doors for meaningful conversations and impact, and that the team would be faithful in their calling.
Receptive hearts in the community – For those the team will meet to be open to hearing and experiencing the love of Christ.
Provision and logistics – That all details (funding, travel, supplies, accommodations) come together smoothly.
Personal growth and transformation – That each team member would be changed by the experience and grow in faith and compassion.
