What God has accomplished at Riverstone in just two years is a miracle. Sure, it may not be the same signs and wonders you read about in the Bible, but what He has done through the hard work and generous support of so many people is just one of the ways we see God at work every single day.
Together with Him, our goal is that we are creating a church community built around His two greatest commandments: "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." - Matthew 22:35–40

What’s Coming Next?
We have reached a good point in our sanctuary expansion project (our long-term plans still include some new microphones and lighting), it’s time to shift our focus on our Kids and Student Ministries. Jesus was clear on the importance of supporting and nurturing children to have a relationship with Him. And that is exactly our focus through these ministries at Riverstone. To best do that we need to not only create a space that is safe and secure but a place that kids want to be and want to hang out! Church should be a place of refuge and for kids that starts with first having fun!
What’s Happened so Far?
Our first goal was to create a welcoming and comfortable space to gather and worship together. As fun as it is to be in an old movie theater, there was A LOT of work to do! Our church family quickly outgrew the single-theater sanctuary space so our first efforts were focused on expansion. But not only did we need more space, we needed consistent heat! Replacing HVAC units, taking down a theater wall, adding a second screen, and providing more space for our worship team were all accomplished in the first phase of fundraising!
Overall Security Upgrades
We have a big space to keep secure! General security upgrades planned next include: cameras, electronic locks, and lighting.
Nursery Relocation & Expansion
For parents of young kids, church is a chance to spend one hour recharging - not something you get much of at this stage! We need a bigger nursery space so we can provide parents the opportunity to get that reset they need too!
Children’s Area Security Upgrades
While we love to see kids running around and having fun at church, we also need to make sure they remain where they need to be during programming ;) This part of the project includes creating a Kids Ministry entrance (with real walls!) that not only keeps them safe but gives them their own super cool space!
